Slocum and the Kansas Slaughter
What bills itself as an epic Western adventure, with crime and hunting galore is nothing more than glorified pornography. A loose plot is presented to allow our hero, Slocum, to travel and seduce all the women he encounters.
Admittedly, when the title character is called Slocum, I probably should have seen it coming. Poor writing, terrible character development, and a thin plot could have been forgiven (a little) if the sex scenes were at least slightly steamy but instead they leave one feeling uncomfortable and as though they stumbled across a 13 year old's attempt at writing erotica.
I will not be reading another Jake Logan book. Ever. Because my rating system deals only in wholes, this gets 1/5 stars (but isn't even really deserving of that.)
