Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert

Danika Brown wants three simple things in life: academic renown, professional success, and mind-blowing sex.  The gruff exterior of her friend, Zaf Ansari, hides a hopeless romantic and when he rescues her from an elevator, it seems that fate has other plans for them.

I really enjoyed the lead characters in this novel- even the background ones were relatable and enjoyable.  I love that the typical romance M/F roles are reversed.  In Take a Hint, Dani Brown, we see Dani as a career woman not interested in romance, but that prefers casual hookups.  Zaf on the other hand is someone that suffers deeply from anxiety, and advocates for boys and men to be better in touch with their feelings.  I think that it is a dynamic that works really well and it helps that both characters are well-fleshed out.

Of course, as in any romance novel you get your safety net of Happily Ever After, but there is just enough to keep you wondering if it will happen right until the very end.  The growth of both Dani and Zaf throughout the novel seems reflective of many modern relationships.  I look forward to reading the other Brown Sisters stories!  A sold 4/5 stars for me.
